Erlanger, KY – June 29, 2004 – Transfreight has taken another step forward in reducing total logistics costs for its customers by developing a new integrated logistics services center in Tipp City, Ohio: the Dayton Service Center.
As a specialist in lean logistics, Transfreight understands the benefits of integration, which historically, has consisted of centralizing and consolidating the logistics systems of several plants within one organization.
By creating an integrated system with the volumes of multiple plants of several customers, Transfreight is significantly reducing costs for their customers. This integrated system has been running successfully since February 2004; a new anchor service center is set to open later this year. This innovative facility will be designed to support the optimal flow of live materials and returnable containers and offers logistics engineering, traffic and transportation management, crossdocking, and sequencing. The center, which affords customers the sharing of human, equipment, and other associated resources without diminishing customer service levels, is prepared for expanded customers, service offerings, and volume capacities.
